in Browns National Wildlife Refuge

This campgrounds best features are its solitude and its proximity to the Green River, which is wide and wild at this stage on its journey to the Colorado River. In late spring and early summer, the river is flooded with runoff and spring rains. (It can be muddy, too, and therefore not much good for fishing. Conditions vary). Occasionally, boaters traveling into Dinosaur National Monument will pass by, and in the fall, hunters arrive to look for deer and elk in the surrounding BLM lands. Otherwise, there is almost no traffic in this remote valley, which feels more like Wyoming or New Mexico than Colorado.

in Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge

Browns Park, a remote valley that straddles the Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming borders, is miles form nowhere, but if you seek solitude, wildlife, or natural beauty, it is worth the drive.
